With carefully painted covers, sophomore Claire Poulter showcases some of her favorite greeting cards she made since she began her business. Poulter started Elizabeth Illustrations at the beginning of quarantine because she had a lot of time on her hands and wanted to do something that she was passionate about. All of my vinyls are commissioned pieces so most of them are designs that people come up with themselves, Poulter said. Whereas cards are almost all my own designs, unless someone orders a custom one, in which case I paint whatever I want. And I’ll look for inspiration anywhere really, but a lot of my favorite cards have come from my friends and families ideas.

Wearing one of her three character outfits, junior Katie Smith poses in the Snow Queen costume. Smith first came up with the idea for a party princess business in March and quickly began the process of creating the character costumes and the budget. “My favorite thing about going to theme parks is interacting with the characters and having conversations with them,” Smith said. “I realized that that’s something I could bring to the kids right here in Cedar Park so I immediately started planning.”

However her favorite was Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. “I got to perform as a character I wouldn’t normally play,” Dove said. “Altering my appearance and personality was probably the most difficult part of playing Elle Woods.
