Smiling together, the Lady Timberwolves hold the 5A Girls Basketball State Champion trophy on March 10. After a neck and neck game, the team won 46-39 against Frisco Liberty. To win this state title is truly a blessing, sophomore captain and point guard, Gisella Maul, said. We worked so hard to get to this moment, we faced so many adversities and listened to to many people doubt us, but in the end were the state champs.

Peterson was hoping to pass district and then go to regionals, however because of the pandemic the 2019-2020 season was cut short. I was pretty excited to go to regionals, Peterson said. Point guard Gisella Maul dribbles and runs towards the net while playing against members of Cibolo Steel. Although the Nov. 13 game ended in a loss 54 - 56, the girls varsity team proceeded to win every game in the season afterwards. Maul owes the teams victories to their teamwork and coaching. I’m proud of my team for always sticking and working together. Most of the credit goes to their efforts and to Coach Ott for always keeping us in top shape, Maul said.

Varsity cheerleaders pose in Cowboy Stadium as they cheer for the football team at the state football championships on Jan. 15, just one day after the they competed in the Spirit Championships in Fort Worth, placing fifth. Senior Captain Emma Vorndran expressed pride at the teams work and said she is grateful for her time with them. 
I would not want to be on any other team,” Vorndran said. “I feel as if this is the best team I have ever been a part of in regards to both talent and friendships. The relationships that have been made on this team are meaningful to each and every individual, and I am so proud of how far this team has come. The best part about being a senior captain is watching the younger classmen grow in skill and their love for cheer.”

Eyes forward and head out of water, junior Thomas Wu competes at the 5A state championships in February. Wu made it to the finals for the 100yd butterfly and 100yd breaststroke events.  “Breaststroke has always been my best and favorite strokes since I started swimming, and I have spent a lot of time and effort working on it,” Wu said. “For the past year or so, Ive also been trying to expand my horizons and improve my other events. For example, last year I really focused on the 100 butterfly and I improved a lot finishing fourth at the state championships.”

Fans cheer at the Cedar Ridge football game on Oct. 2. Even with COVID-19, senior Isaac Luttrell still goes to watch the team play. I am so glad that we can still go and watch the football games in-person, Luttrell said. The masks are a bit annoying, but it is still fun to go out and support our team.
