Ultimate Frisbee is in full swing

Heads up, the Ultimate Frisbee team is flying in. Seniors Miles Gregerson and Evan Rosenthal are bringing back the Frisbee team with force.

Gregerson and Rosenthal both love the game and thought it would be a good idea to get the club up and going again.

Even though the boys are seniors, they hope that the underclassmen involved in the team will keep it alive next year.

“We hope that we gain more underclassmen,” Rosenthal said. “We are relying on them to keep the team alive in the years to come.”

The team is very lenient and understand that students have many other activities to deal with. With this in mind, Rosenthal and Gregerson are ok if people come every once in a while. Gregerson knows that not everybody is perfect at the sport.

“We are all here to have fun,” Gregerson said. “Anybody can join, and you don’t have to make a complete commitment for the team.”

Even though the Frisbee team isn’t playing other schools or having designated coaches, they still scrimmage each other and hope to one day be able to go to tournaments. They are even trying to make shirts.

Senior Carter Kriss joined for the fun of it. Rosenthal and Gregerson talked him into joining, and he was intrigued.

“Evan and Miles told me about it and it seemed interesting,” Kriss said. “It’s a really fun sport and everyone is happy to be there and play.”

The team practices on the soccer fields every Tuesday and Thursday. Sometimes students will still go out there and play when it’s not a designated practice day.

Anyone is welcomed to join, and if students don’t completely understand the game or just want to learn more about how everything works, Gregerson and Rosenthal are happy to help. Anyone interested can also ask Mrs. Hexter, the sponsor for the team.
