The narrator’s voice boomed over the audience, and the lights began to shine onto the stage. As the curtains opened, the Celebrities stood in their gleaming uniforms and performed the opening dance, “Diamonds,” for this year’s Spring Show.

The theme this year was “Dreams,” and the show was a dream in itself. With risky dance moves to heart-touching performances, the show made me feel as if I was dreaming, and I didn’t want to wake up. Every dance group brought on stage fully brought to life a “dream” show.

With many of my friends being a part of the Celebrities, I made the decision to go to two of the three showings, and I do not regret it. Each dance was performed with passion. One of my favorite dances was the “Senior” dance, especially on the last day of the show. The performance was full of emotion, and towards the end of the song the seniors began to cry, in turn, making me cry. It was surreal, even for me, because this was one of the last dances they performed together.

In between the Celebs dances, different out-of-school dance companies would take the stage. One of the companies was MUV. They performed in a hip-hop routine and blew the crowd away. It looked as if they were professionals, when really they were my age. Sure does make me feel great about myself.

A crowd favorite was the Disney dance. After the 15 minute intermission, the Celebs took the stage once more and performed, by far, the cutest dance routine. The line officers were dressed in tourist-like outfits, as they headed to Disney World. They took the crowd along on a journey through the different Disney performances, with the “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Haunted Mansion, and ending with the well-known fireworks. Each dance was wonderful, and quick. As the line officers toured “Disney World,” they were incorporated in each dance along the way, and at the end they all sat down and gazed at the fireworks, which were only stage lights and some background noise, but nevertheless, the performance was eye-catching and was performed very well.

To end the show, the Celebrities came out in their traditional uniform and performed the closing dance. Full of high-kicks, spins and cheers, the final dance was fun to watch, and quite impressive. It was saddening when the dance was finally over, the “dream” had ended, but it sure was a good one.

As I said before, I’m very glad I went two days in a row, one of them being the final show full of tears and happiness. I can’t wait to see what the theme will be next year.
