LISD Says Law Enforcement Has Found No Validity to Clown Threats, Will Remain Diligent in Investigating

In a statement released Tuesday by Leander ISD, the district said there is no cause to worry about the recent increase in clown threats as seen on social media.
“At this time, our law enforcement partners have found no validity to the threats, and students and staff are not in any danger,” the statement said.
The district also acknowledged that threats are being made across Central Texas and Austin area schools.
LISD ensures that their law enforcement partners, as well as administrators are working to make sure that students and staff are safe.
Students have been reacting to the various threats via social media.
Senior Cami Rettinger believes the threats are real.
“Because of the attention they have gotten, [I think] it has sparked others to dress up like clowns,” Rettinger said.
Junior Blake Miller feels it’s just people seeking attention.
“The social media hype has encouraged this sick behavior,” Miller said.

There was a gun threat and a clown threat at my school today made the news. This is too much for me I hate clowns.
