“Avatar: The Way of Water” was released on Dec. 16 2022. Directed by James Cameron, the “Avatar” sequel features an updated cast. The production and animation was fantastic, however the three and a half hour length made it a bit difficult to watch fully through in the movie theatre. Considering its unoriginal plot, unnecessary length, and fantastic production, I’d rate this film a 6 out of 10. (Movie stills courtesy of 20th Century Studios)

Watching the Way of Water

I grew up watching the first “Avatar” movie. I remember my five-year-old self sitting in the IMAX theatre, anticipating the speakers to boom with sound and the screen to explode in hues of blue. My...

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is a Marvel film directed by Ryan Coogler released on Nov. 11. The movie did a phenomenal job adding in themes of grief and retribution, however it was definitely not perfect. With its complex subject and turbulent pacing, it was a bit difficult to watch all the way through. However, the characters, costumes and special effects were to die for. Overall, the movie was not perfect, but I would definitely watch again. (Movie stills courtesy of Marvel Studios)

Analyzing a gravestone, a student takes a picture for their elegy. The project was due Friday, November 11, and involved students visiting a graveyard, taking a picture of a gravestone and writing a poem about it. “My favorite part was really trying to put myself into the perspective of my poem, which was extremely eye opening,” alumni Hailey Bowerman said. “It really made me appreciate life and the people I love around me and it really opened my eyes to how precious life and love is, especially when we are young.”

Deciding what to wear in the morning felt like a minefield. Now, with the new dress code established a few years ago, students no longer have to tread lightly about what they will wear to school that day.

Dress Coded

Iliana Tangarova, Reporter November 18, 2022

One of my most memorable experiences at school was being dress-coded. You may ask, “What did you get dress-coded for?” It was a bra strap. My. Literal. Bra. Strap. Was. Showing. Apparently, the bra...
