The color guard wins UIL 5A State Champions with band while performing with the theme “Eye See,” which includes vibrant and colorful shades of blue and purple for costumes. The color guard will perform their new show tomorrow with the theme electricity. “I think performances are really valuable to the program,” sophomore Lily Dodds said. “We get to show off and people get to see what we’re capable of.”

The story takes place in rural Colombia where the family uses their powers to help others in their town, except the main character who is not gifted any powers. The movie is only in theaters, Nov 24. through Dec. 24, after it will be available to stream on Disney Plus.

Catching a shovel hook, Instructor Noach Sertuche practices martial arts moves at The Mat Martial Arts & Fitness. The Mat teaches students to train, learn, and live. The Mat has recently relocated on Cypress Creek road near the High School, and they teach students how to face potential dangers and real life challenges. “The Mat Martial Arts & Fitness is more than just a place where I go to work, to train, or to teach,” Sertuche said. “The Mat is a place I can go and feel like everyone is treated like a family every time I walk in.”

This holiday season, local coffee shops have released seasonal flavors. Pictured: Apple Crisp Macchiato from Starbucks, Peppermint Mocha Moon from Summer Moon, and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew from Dunkin Donuts. The Peppermint Mocha Moon was my favorite coffee I purchased because of the strong flavor of peppermint and chocolate, which immediately reminded me of the holiday season. This drink is a perfect drink for anyone who wants to start celebrating the holidays a little early.

Discussing strategies with senior varsity football player Dylan Hufford, varsity football coach Brendan McCarthy coaches the team against Georgetown game on Sept. 24. McCarthy, who used to coach at Cedar Park Middle School, started coaching football at the high school level as of this year, and he said there is a difference between the two school football teams. “I am becoming a better coach because I can concentrate on one position: safeties,” McCarthy said. “Here, football is a lot more fast paced and having to win is a lot more important. There is a lot more pressure because of the level of play.”
