The Celebrities Line and Social Officers line up for a professional group picture that brings context to their Spring Show theme for this year, “Up, Up And Away. On April 30, the Celebs hosted a kids dance camp, participants from which will also have the opportunity to participate in the show. “Some kids chose to dance in the show and a few celebs volunteered to be up there dancing with them,” junior Laura Hunter said. “It will be a great way for them to have a performance experience and see the final dance.”

With busy schedules, it can be really difficult to find time and motivation to work out and keep a healthy lifestyle while keeping up with all school activities. This has motivated juniors Bella Rivera and Ashley Dahse to create the brand new club, “Health n’ Fitness” to promote healthy lifestyles around campus and connect with people on this same journey. “We created this club to help encourage people to get involved with healthy lifestyles as well as motivating ourselves too,” Dahse said. “This way we could continue our journey together with helping other like-minded people.”

The French Legation Museum, the oldest recorded building in Austin, is home to a vast range of history. Once belonging to the 19th century French diplomat Alphonse Dubois, it now gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about the early history of Texas and see how life was back then with their own eyes. I loved my visit to this museum as it gave me new information about a person in Texas history that I didn’t know about, and being able to see some of the objects and house interiors from that time made me feel as if I had traveled back in time two centuries.

One of the main goals of the club is to provide a fun environment for students to relax and unwind from a busy day.  “Ping- Pong club is about students with a similar passion in ping pong coming together and improving each other,” senior member Jay Kannam said. “A usual meeting consists of putting tables together and playing, and sometimes we also hold tournaments to see who has improved over the week.”

Poetry club members sit down, and write words to plan a poem to write. During meetings, members have time to work on their work and share it with other members, in order to improve their work.“I believe many students write poetry, as I did as a young person, and they have no one to share it with,” club sponsor and English teacher Ms. Iskra said. “Poetry Club is an opportunity for students to meet other people who write poetry and share their own work in a supportive setting. [The club] is an opportunity for students who love and perhaps write poetry to share it with other interested students. We also seek to improve and promote the craft of poetry composition through practice and performance.”
