Welcoming back the familiar faces of Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, this new addition to the “Scream” franchise also adds new faces such as Jenna Ortega and Dylan Minnette. This new installment to the series wasn’t as perfect as I had hoped but it was still exciting to see this modern adaptation to the franchise. The film keeps it’s classic “who done it” attitude and makes sure to keep viewers guessing who’s behind the mask.

Singing on the PAC stage, junior Brady Allen performs the song ‘God, I Hate Shakespeare’ from Something Rotten. In addition to ‘Something Rotten’ the theatre program has put on ‘Carrie’, a haunted house and the ‘Cabaret’. “We’ve done a lot of preparing since the Summer, rehearsals have been going really well,” Allen said. “I go out with the main cast a lot to do more prepping or just to hang out and build chemistry. Mainly we’re just trying to have fun with it, not take it too seriously but still put on a good show.”

“Don’t Look Up” was released on Dec. 5, 2021 after around six months of filming. In this scene, Jennifer Lawerence, playing Kate Dibiasky, and Timothee Chalamet, playing Pule, are talking about a person who scammed them out of free snacks and charged them. I loved this movie, and I definitely recommend it to those who haven’t watched it yet.

UIL Academics teams pose for a group photo four days after the Jan. 15 Burnet Invitational. Senior and captain of the UIL Journalism team Tristan Hernandez, who got first in editorial writing, third in headline writing and fourth in news and feature writing, said that the practice he’s acquired through invitationals and past UIL competitions has improved his writing almost as much as his time in journalism. “I decided to compete in UIL Journalism because I liked the format of the article prompts and wanted to improve further on my writing. While its possible in school, the timed format of UIL Journalism competitions makes you think quickly on your feet and really get your writing fundamentals down.”

Driving is something that all students have come to rely on, especially during their senior year. The question of how interested modern teenagers are in driving is now being brought up in multiple studies, however, high school students still recognize and value the importance of driving as a whole, such as senior Jasmin Gonzales. “I think driving is a super important skill because it allows the person to run personal errands or help out others if they need a ride somewhere,” Gonzales said. “I think that is one of the best parts of high school is being able to start driving yourself to school. There’s something so maturing about it.”
