Lisa Holts 6th period in-person choir students practice social distancing during class. While the virtual choir students have to adjust to singing via zoom, in-person students have to adjust to singing in a mask. “We have tried to keep the structure of instruction as similar to our regular routine,” Holt said. “We start with vocal warm-ups, rehearse sight-reading, have social ice breakers and music games, and then end with teaching literature. We teach the in-person students as a typical choral rehearsal while those on zoom sing-along from home. The most significant difference is you can only hear the 30% who are in person.”

I enjoy showing because its a great environment to learn how to be competitive but also respectful, FFA Club President and senior Skye Lindholm said. Eyes forward and head out of water, junior Thomas Wu competes at the 5A state championships in February. Wu made it to the finals for the 100yd butterfly and 100yd breaststroke events.  “Breaststroke has always been my best and favorite strokes since I started swimming, and I have spent a lot of time and effort working on it,” Wu said. “For the past year or so, Ive also been trying to expand my horizons and improve my other events. For example, last year I really focused on the 100 butterfly and I improved a lot finishing fourth at the state championships.”
