![Broadcast, yearbook and newspaper combined for 66 Interscholastic League Press Conference awards this year. Lucas broke the school’s 18-year-old record for the 500 freestyle at regionals and again at state with a time of 4:58.63. “I’d had my eye on that 500 record since my freshman year, so I was really excited to see if I could get it at regionals or districts,” Lucas said. “ State is always a really fun experience and medaling for the first time was really great. It was a very very tight race, [so] I was a bit surprised [that I medaled]. Meet and Greet: Math

Cedar Park welcomes two new math teachers: Lance Erickson and Julie Bielamowicz. Erickson teaches Geometry and Math Models and Bielamowicz teaches Algebra one, two and Intermediate College Prep Algebra. Below are some facts you might not know about your new math teacher:
Lance Erickson
Q: How many years have you been teaching math?
A: 20 years.
Q:Where was the most interesting place you’ve taught at?
A: I used to teach in Africa.
Q: Where did you go to college?
A: I got my Bachelor’s at the University of Michigan and I got my Masters at the University of Texas.
Q: If you could have a power what would it be?
A: I would want to be able to go back five minutes in time, asking to go back for longer than that is unreasonable.
Q: Android or iPhone?
A: I have an Android but I like iPhone more.
Julie Bielamowicz
Q: What college did you go to?
A: The University of Texas at Austin.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: I enjoy discovering new and delicious food venues in Austin with friends, crocheting, reading and supporting my Longhorns and Austin Aztecs.
