CPHS UIL Results

While CPHS is known for our outstanding sports, we are also known for how well we do academically. Over this past weekend while many of our students were gearing up for prom, a group of students travelled over to Magnolia High School to compete in the District and Regional events of UIL Academics.

While at the meet our own yearbook editor Lindsey Buggi placed 5th in Regionals. “You’re given a prompt of all the interviews and you put it together the best way you can. So you can beat people with your greatness” said Buggi.

Along with Lindsey moving to regionals, our math team did especially well and had many people advance from district to regionals. While we were unable to get a statement from Ms. Ziemann, we did get the Speech and Debate teacher, Ms. Dawn Azbill-Smith, to give her opinion on how they did, she told us about the results.

“We got the speech sweepstakes, the journalism sweepstakes, and are the district 19 Champions” said Azbill.

Truly a great accomplishment for CPHS and it proves that we are more than just sports.

Below are all of the results for all CPHS groups that competed in Regional UIL Academic meets.

1st through 3rd place individuals have qualified for Regional, 4th and 5th are alternates, and 1st place teams also qualify. 2nd Place teams are alternates.
