Seniors Matthew Chater on the right and Caleb Chandler on the left pose with their first place trophy after competing together at the Toyota T-Ten Competition. “It’s all for experience, and I just love the technical side of it, like the problem solving,” Chater said. “I don’t actually know when [I became interested in cars]. I’d assume when I was really young, something about engines and cars and stuff, it kinda just piqued my interest. Ever since then, I’ve been doing a whole bunch of stuff, and I’ve rebuilt my car because I bought it as a wrecked car." (Photo Courtesy of Matthew Chater)

Running toward the goal, captain and senior Antonio DeLaRosa protects the ball away from the opposing team. The team currently has a four win to two lose to two tie record and continues to progress through district play. “I think our work rate separates us from other teams,” Antonio DeLaRosa said. “This is easily one of the hardest working teams I’ve ever been a part of, and not a lot of teams can keep up with our intensity.”

Senior Gavin Reid lays down in his substitute backpack, an inflatable pool filled with his school supplies. Reid had to bring the entire pool into the classroom for "Anything but a Backpack Day." “All of my teachers were kind of like, ‘why?’ Every teacher I brought it into, they were like ‘how are you going to get this in there?’” Reid said. “They were like ‘I can’t have you leaving it out there cause I don’t want your stuff getting stolen,’ and so they would just say ‘okay, bring it in.’” (Photo Courtesy of Grace Courtright)
