Emily Mahoney is a senior and first year reporter. She enjoys writing, making desperate attempts at baking, and spending time with her dogs. She is doing the best she can. Her plans after high school include attending college and pursuing a writing career of some sort. Emily enjoys reporting on student opinions and being able to make connections with people through their stories. She is very excited to be part of CPHS news and is ready to tear it the HECK up on The Wolfpack newspaper.

Overall, the girls team took second place and the boys team came in eleventh. “My favorite stroke is butterfly because I do the best in that stroke,” Pope said. “I feel like [butterfly] can test how [your ability] to convince yourself to keep going. During the summer, Peterson traveled to Colombia to help build an elementary school that only had two classrooms but five or six grades with one teacher. “We add[ed] two more classrooms,” Peterson said. “It’s kind of hard when you have two or three grades in one classroom and you only have one teacher. It’s very hard to actually get some beneficial learning. ![Deciding what college one wants to attend can put a lot of pressure on students who may be struggling to keep up their grades and extracurriculars. Senior Marlee Randel said that she has been affected by this stress, having to maintain her school performance in addition to meeting the high costs that are sometimes required to apply.

![Students from the ASL Honor Society attended this community event on Oct.12 to practice signing and immerse themselves in Deaf culture.
