![Following through his swing, senior Logan Hedges hits to right field for a base hit in a scrimmage against Vandegrift on Feb. 3. Hedges said the team has big goals this year including making it to the State Tournament. “It’s definitely interesting considering that if we play super far playoff baseball we’ll be playing after we graduate,” Hedges said. “Just the thought of being able to go that far with the guys that we’ve been playing with for years now is just, it’s kind of inspiring. It’s what motivates me, just to think that you know there’s a chance to be out of high school still playing ball with my friends, so just one game at a time. One win at a time. Just figuring out whos going to do it for us.”](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/LOGAN.jpg)
Round Four or Bust
![Senior Adam Vaughn pitches a fast ball towards the opposing team, hopeful for a strike. The team played a tournament against Cooper High School on March 25 with one win and one loss. “I’ve always been big into the weightroom and that has always come naturally,” Vaughn said. “But I have spent much more time on pitching and my hard work is definitely helping me become a better pitcher. Every player goes into games in practice with an intent of getting better at the game and becoming a better athlete.”](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/tristan-384-900x600.jpg)
Pitch Perfect
![Throwing a heater, senior pitcher Sam Householder pitches against the opposing batter. “[My goals are] being an impact player on varsity and hopefully being a district pitcher of the year, Householder said.](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Sam-Householder-900x600.png)

Young baseball team strives for playoffs
![Waterloo swim instructor, Emler swim instructor, and Camp Hope leader are just some of the jobs available for students over the summer. Junior Clara Rabago will be working as a small group leader at Camp Hope for two weeks over the summer where she will be taking care of the children there and participating in activities such as church services, games, art, and science. “I’m excited to have my own kids this year,” Rabago said. “I like seeing how a kid will come in and be super shy, but then they come out all being friends. They’re so happy and energetic and it’s just cool to see how much these kids grow within a week.”](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/crossword-pic-edit.jpg)
