In the Battle of Five Armies, Bilbo Baggins and the company of Dwarves go to war in order to keep the Lonely Mountain from the evil that wish to take it. While protecting the Lonely Mountain, Thorin and the Dwarves search frantically for the King’s jewel, the Arkenstone. The story opens with the people of Laketown trying to flee the wrath of Smaug the dragon. After the chaos, the Murkwood Elves and the people of Laketown beg for their share of the treasure from the Dwarves. The Dwarves deny their share and they prepare to lay siege on the Lonely Mountain. Then the forces of evil intervene and the armies unite to defend the treasure. All the forces of Middle Earth gather at the Lonely Mountain and are forced to fight together against the growing darkness.

Based on the book, by J.R.R. Tolken, “The Hobbit” movie trilogy draws to a close with the final installment of the prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy released in 2001. This film incorporates the characters from the previous movies and introduces new characters such as Dain and his army from the Iron Hills. I gave this movie 8.5 out of 10 mostly because it was the final installment of The Hobbit movie trilogy; and it being the last, the director obviously made it grander, with more action and a lot more in-depth fight scenes involving all the main characters. Also, the way each scene focuses on the important aspects of the main book plot, while still changing some details, makes the audience sit on the edge of their seats. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and definitely recommend it to everyone that enjoys action, romance, and to fans of the previous two Hobbit movies.
