Mai is a senior and a first year reporter. In addition to being a member of The Wolfpack, she is also a part of the Tracks Yearbook staff. In her free time she likes to read and take photos. She enjoys writing about people’s interests and meeting new people. She is unsure where she will attend college, but wants to study Criminal Justice. She loves hanging out with friends and trying new things.

Crossing the finish line, senior Isabel Conde De Frankenberg secures first place at the Cedar Park invitational on Sept.9. This was Conde De Frankenberg’s first race of the season and she has won this race every year since she was a freshman. “Winning felt good because it’s good to represent your school,” Conde De Frankenberg said. “Being able to run on your own campus is really exciting and I had fun.”

Preparing to dive in the pool, junior Parker Huang waits for the 100-yard breaststroke to begin at the CPHS v. Leander v. Vista Ridge meet on Sep. 21. The boys swim and dive team finished in second place at the meet.    I also try to be positive and encourage everyone on the team, Huang said. I love the team. I love the people on the team. Its more team based, so if you dont necessary do well at a swim meet youre still having fun cause youre hanging out with your friends.

Holding the film tripod, varsity manager, junior Hadrian Hurn, helps the team by moving the film iPad in between sets against Leander on Oct. 17. The varsity volleyball tell battled against Leander and ended the match with a victory in the fourth set. My favorite thing about being a manager is being able to help out with practices and going to watch all the games,Hurn said. Being a manager helps me as a player because I can watch high level volleyball and watch how people better than me play, and apply the playing style or techniques and form to how I play in my practices and games.

Starting his second lap of the race, senior Sanil Desai continues through the course at the Vista Ridge cross country invitational on Aug. 25. This was the second meet of the season and Desai finished in 19th place. “I was thinking about the team placements,” Desai said. “A lot of the schools at the Vista meet will be at districts so I was trying to pass as many people as I could, I’m mostly worried about Leander because they have an all around strong team.”

In It For the Long Run

The sign at the front of the school will soon be replaced with a new top designed by the students and teachers of the Agricultural classes. Seniors Thomas Chavez and Connor Ross plan to finish their project soon to be put up before they leave for their senior year. “I think it would be a good experience to get to see how to make things,” Chavez said. “So maybe down the road I can make something similar.”

The wrestling team prepares for their district matches, which will take place on Jan. 27 for junior varsity wrestlers and Feb. 3-4 for varsity wrestlers. The team continues to work on perfecting their techniques and growing their bond as a program. “My favorite thing about the team is definitely the brotherhood that comes with it,” sophomore Miles Jones said. “We are a big family. Knowing you always have your team backing you up is one of the greatest feelings ever.”
