Antisemitism is one of the leading causes towards the Holocaust, and affects the lives of millions to this day. “I still care so much about education and I was aware of the Texas Holocaust Genocide and Antisemitary Advisory Commission through a friend, and thought that that really kind of related really well to me, as someone who cares about the rights of others and cares about education,” Fryer said.

With our approval, it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars - maybe trillions."

After placing second in their respective LDEs at the Capital District contest in early November, freshman Jesus Jaramillo-Gallegos and freshman Wyatt Pickett will compete at the Area XII LDE contest in Georgetown on Nov. 23. Jaramillo-Gallegos is competing in Greenhand Spanish Creed Speaking, while Pickett’s LDE is Greenhand Creed Speaking. “Honestly, [I’m excited for] just traveling around, maybe meeting more people,” Jaramillo-Gallegos said. “And [I’m] nervous about probably just not being able to define my weak areas. I feel like I did decent for my first time ever doing this. I just think it’s fun.”

Posing for a picture together, the Celebrities welcomed the Blue Belles to CPHS to learn the “Sister Kick” dance for the Nov. 1 halftime. Typing on her computer in her AP Research class, junior Valerie Hall can be seen making edits to her research paper. Hall’s project is focused on the relationship between celebrities and their fans and how that affects purchasing celebrity products. “Since the career path I’m looking into is focused on science and research, I hope to gain experience from this entire journey in AP Research,” Hall said. “As this certainly will not be the last time I write a research paper or construct a study, I hope to have gained knowledge on exactly how to do that in the future. I have received so much support from Mrs. Brannan and my peers as well.”

Smiling at the camera, senior Nathan Rechtfertig reflects on how the NROTC scholarship program will affect his life in the future. Because he is a recipient of this scholarship, he will join the marines. “It means a lot [to receive this scholarship,” Rechtfertig said. “It’s very calming because a lot of the colleges I applied for are out of state which is expensive and this scholarship pays it off. And I want to serve so it gives me the ability to both go to school and then serve after.”

Standing in front of a small audience, senior Kimberley Walters shares a social criticism poem titled “Pity the Nation” by Lawrence Felinghetti. Every month, sponsored by the poetry club, the library hosts a poetry reading. “I never thought I would be interested in [poetry readings] because I’m not the biggest poetry fan,” Walters said. “I think poetry is a very succinct way to express feelings and get a story across. Whereas lots of books have a span of a whole story, but it’s put in a lot of words. The power of poetry is that you can be so succinct within, and there’s a lot of power within the words that are used.”

"I feel really good," Breiner said. "We've been winning a lot and playing more as a team. Our team chemistry is very good, and I'm very confident going into district."

The team beat Georgetown 3-1 at The University of Mary Hardin Baylor on Nov. 19. “I couldn’t be more proud of the kids and everybody behind the scenes,” head coach Lori McLaughlin said. “Georgetown is an amazing team, so this is a hard win. We just continue to be fueled by our wins and the motivation we have to keep our season going.”

Sucking in a breath of air, freshman Lily Pope competes in the 200 yard individual medley. On Oct. 25, the swim team competed in the AISD Swim Invitational. Overall, the girls team took second place and the boys team came in eleventh. “My favorite stroke is butterfly because I do the best in that stroke,” Pope said. “I feel like [butterfly] can test how [your ability] to convince yourself to keep going. The hardest part of swimming is convincing yourself to stay strong and keep pushing during a hard race [when] everything is tired.”

PackCast hosts, seniors Kacey Miller, Heidi Williams, and Ingrid Bonner discuss student-submitted “AITA” stories. Bonner reads out the submitted stories to Miller and Williams who then decide if the student is in the wrong or not.

Kacey is a senior and fourth year reporter. She loves learning about her fellow students and writing about their stories. In addition to being a staff member for The Wolfpack, she is a UIL journalism competitor, the Cedar Park FFA President and has two show lambs, named Cotton and Bugs, as well as a pig named Nellie (Oleson). If she’s not at the barn or practicing for her FFA contests, she’s probably doing homework. You can find her at every football game, either in the student section or on the sidelines taking pictures. Some of her favorite memories are from reading the Bible with her little sisters. She plans to attend college somewhere cold, but also doesn’t want to be too far away from her family. Her favorite animal is a bear and sometimes she wishes she could hibernate like one. Also, she believes that the Brachiosaurus is the best dinosaur.
Heidi Williams
Heidi Williams, Reporter
Heidi is a senior and a third year reporter. Along with newspaper, Heidi races her Ninja 400 with CMRA and has an internship at the Water Treatment Plant for the City of Cedar Park. Heidi spends her weekends at COTA, either racing or taking photos, and she is always down to go to any Korean BBQ. Heidi's goal for this year is to not only get into the University of Missouri, but also learn how to wheelie so she can finally compete with her boyfriend. Also, she believes that the Spinosaurus is the best dinosaur.
Ingrid Bonner
Ingrid Bonner, Reporter
Ingrid is a senior first-year reporter. Other than newspaper, Ingrid is a shift lead working part-time at Chick-Fil-A, and is involved in multiple honor societies at school. Ingrid is a twin born five minutes after her sister...spoiler alert, her sister always rubs it in her face.  Ingrid aspirers to be either a civil rights lawyer or a corporate lawyer. Right now Ingrid's biggest goal is getting into Texas A&M along with her twin sister. Ingrid hates raw fish like tuna or shrimp, but loves California rolls. Also, she believes that the Brachiosaurus is the best dinosaur.
