Boys varsity soccer played in their first tournament of the season on Jan. 9 and 10 at Hays High School.
The first game of the tournament ended with a 0-0 tie against Bowie High School. The next game was against Del Valle High School, and the boys lost 3-0. The team ended the tournament with a loss against the Corpus Christi Kings. The score was 5-0.
“We will keep practicing and learning more about the team as we get ready for the next game,” senior center mid Tracer Moore said.
Since the boys varsity team hasn’t played together all year, it was a learning experience as they came together for the first time this season.
Like many others on the varsity team, it is Moore’s last season playing high school soccer.
“It’s a bittersweet moment for most of us, as it’s the last time playing together as a team,” Moore said. “It will be sad once the season is over.”
Moore explained that they have their eyes on the district game and have high hopes at making a good run in playoffs this season.
Their next game is on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. against Stony Point at home.
