Singing on the PAC stage, junior Brady Allen performs the song ‘God, I Hate Shakespeare’ from Something Rotten. In addition to ‘Something Rotten’ the theatre program has put on ‘Carrie’, a haunted house and the ‘Cabaret’. “We’ve done a lot of preparing since the Summer, rehearsals have been going really well,” Allen said. “I go out with the main cast a lot to do more prepping or just to hang out and build chemistry. Mainly we’re just trying to have fun with it, not take it too seriously but still put on a good show.”

Inspired by Shakespeare’s play “Romeo and Juliet,” “West Side Story” started off as a Broadway musical in 1957 and was then made into a film by the same name in 1961. Only recently has the film been remade with Steven Spielberg as director, starring actors Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler.

Working hard, seniors Bella Birdsley, Annika Johnson, Lucy Walter, and sophomores Courtney McDanald, Aidan Cox and James Bailey practice their music for "Carrie the Musical" at an after-school rehearsal. With only a few weeks left until opening day, cast members are working endlessly to bring "Carrie" to the stage. “I’m a little bit nervous, just because it’s been like a year and a half since I’ve done a musical production,” senior and lead in the show, Lucy Walter said. “But I think everyone is really excited to finally get to perform and it’ll be surreal when we get back on the stage.”
