The CPHS color guard performed in their state competition on April 6 at Texas A&M’s Reed Arena, and placed fourth out of 52 other competitors.
“These kids are just amazing at what they do,” color guard director Andy Mrockek said. “I am very proud of them and how far they have come.”
Senior Christian Vargas is very happy with how he and his team did as well.
“I couldn’t be more content with the results and I am extremely proud of my team,” Vargas said. “We have worked so hard together and it definitely paid off.”
The team performed their choreographed routine “Spy versus Spy”, which they also performed at the Spring Show April 11 through 13.
“I think we put every ounce of energy, performance, and love into our state run,” Vargas said. “We did it for each other.”
