A tear-dropping turn of events combined with a heartwarming story and harmonious songs create this constantly changing movie, “Tick, Tick Boom!”
Before I started watching this movie, I truly did not know what to expect. From the title, my ideas on what it could be ranged from the latest horror serial killer movie to an obscure extraterrestrial invasion. As the movie started, I was deeply confused and lost in the plot for about 20 minutes. The fast changing scenes with little connection left me with a feeling of uncertainness of what was really happening. But, as time passed by, the bigger picture started slowly forming, and I started to become truly involved in the story, sympathizing with the characters and transporting myself into their world.
Based on true events, we follow the path of life of a promising theater composer, Jonathan Larson, who is following his dream of putting on his first play on Broadway while navigating love and friendship through many different angles, and dealing with the instability that the future beholds.
Through all the obstacles and difficulties of everyday life that the main character, Jonathan Larson, and his friends had to face, the director, Lin-Manuel Miranda portrayed how momentary life is, with all its temporary ups and downs, and left the audience with an important message: time flies by. This movie encourages us to value every second of our lives as if it was our last one and to focus only on the things that really matter to us. After watching this movie, I reinforced the idea of living life to the fullest and the importance of always being there and present for the people in my life.
And if an amazing plot and flow of ideas wasn’t enough to make this movie one worth a good try, the outstanding cast puts it all together. Combining award winning, well-known actors such as Andrew Garfield and Bradley Whitford with rising stars such as Vanessa Hudgens and Alexandra Shipp gives us a powerful input of fresh energy and break from your usual Hollywood cast.
A special shoutout goes out to Andrew Garfield, who played his main character role with such ease and naturality, making it almost natural for the viewer to find himself thinking the same thoughts and feeling the same things as he was, totally emerging himself into the flow of events, and bringing attention to mental health issues so well-known and “dear” to us like anxiety. The portrayal of the thin line between our professional career with our personal lives, love and friendship, and how they often blend together, leaving us with a sense of stress and unfulfillment. I deeply enjoyed the performance of each of the characters, especially Andrew Garfield and Robin De Jesus, and the way that they made me connect with them and deepen myself into their world.
Overall, I found this movie to be a true cinematographic masterpiece, combining a deep message with great songs to lighten the atmosphere. It is definitely not your average Hollywood plot, and it takes a while to settle down and understand where the course of events is going, but once you get the hang of the plot, it is almost impossible to get out of this charming world where the present and the future come together. I would give this movie an eight out of 10 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new movie that requires some thinking and close-following of events and gives you a sweet taste of true love.

“There’s been times [when] there’s so much clothing stored here and it gets overwhelming, so I end up having to sleep somewhere else in the house,” Mckinney said.](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/DSC_0951-1200x800.jpg)

Yearbook won 43, newspaper won 14 and broadcast took home nine. “I think [the ILPC awards] are a great way to give the kids some acknowledgement for all of their hard work,” newspaper and yearbook adviser Paige Hert said. “They typically spend the year covering everyone else’s big moments, so it’s really cool for them to be celebrated so many times and in so many different ways.”](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/edited-ILPC.jpg)

"I feel like it’s not really appreciated in America as much, but [tennis] is a really competitive and mentally challenging sport,” Nguyen said. “I’m really level-headed and can keep my cool during a match, and that helps me play a bit better under pressure.” Photo by Kyra Cox](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/hasun.jpg)

![Bringing her arm over her head and taking a quick breath, junior Lauren Lucas swims the final laps of the 500 freestyle at the regionals swimming competition on date. Lucas broke the school’s 18-year-old record for the 500 freestyle at regionals and again at state with a time of 4:58.63. “I’d had my eye on that 500 record since my freshman year, so I was really excited to see if I could get it at regionals or districts,” Lucas said. “ State is always a really fun experience and medaling for the first time was really great. It was a very very tight race, [so] I was a bit surprised [that I medaled]. [There were] a lot of fast girls at the meet in general, [and] it was like a dogfight back and forth, back and forth.” Photo by Kaydence Wilkinson](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/Kaydence-2.7-23-edit-2.jpg)

The event has been held for the past two years and is designed to raise money for the baseball program in a fun way. “We’re a baseball team, so people love to compete,” Cuevas said. “So we figured we better do something that gets [their] attention. They want to compete. It’s not a hard sport to do, and we have all different [skill] levels [of participants].” Photo by Henry Mueller](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/Henry-715-1200x900.jpg)
