Yearbooks: the universal beckoning of the end of school and the book that will commemorate our high school years. This highly anticipated annual publication was released on May 23 and sold approximately 1,100 copies. The theme for this year’s book was ‘Before you turn the tassel,’ a sort of bucket list for Cedar Park High School students. The book shows students, clubs and sports making the most out of the school year.
“We wanted to relate the idea of a bucket list to the high school,” sophomore Tracks staffer Hannah Williamson said.
The yearbook has already won many individual achievement awards. The staff submits spreads to the UIL competition in order to compete against all of the 4A schools in the state. So far, this year’s book has won five awards. These include best student life spread (Alina Tang, Soph.), best sports spread (Madison Byers, Sr.), best academic spread (Katerina Lee, Jr.), best class spread (Hannah Williamson, Soph.) and best club spread (Julia O’Hanlon, Soph.).
“Our book was really good this year,” sophomore Tracks staffer Samantha Geesin said. “It’s great to see our hard work pay off.”
