Zero Dark Thirty follows the story of Maya, who is tasked with finding Osama Bin Laden. The R-rated drama has a slow buildup but it all comes together in the final raid scene. Jessica Chastain is captivating as the women who found Bin Laden after ten years of searching and investigating. The trials and tribulations of finding the biggest terrorist threat in the world are fascinating, if slightly disheartening. It took the CIA over four months to attack Bin Laden’s safe house! Even though we all know how it ends, Zero Dark Thirty will still have you on the edge of your seat.
The story of Osama Bin Laden’s capture is definitely movie night worthy, but is not for the faint of heart. The various torture scenes are disturbing while providing insight into anti-terrorism investigation. This movie challenges the viewer to put together the pieces and avoids the CIA/Spy movie clichés (No gadgets over here). All in all, Zero Dark Thirty is a realistic, yet entertaining look into the biggest manhunt in modern history, and will be talked about forever.
