The Timberwolf varsity football team (12-2) took another step towards the state title in a 40-14 victory against Manor on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Birkelback Field in Georgetown.
Running back Mikal Wilson’s 64 rushing yards and touchdown, fullback Thomas Middleton’s 50 rushing yards and quarterback Nate Grimm’s 115 passing yards for three touchdowns to Chad Whitehead and Samuel Brock all contributed to the T-wolf effort.
Defense captured four interceptions and forced two fumbles. Keith Tambe, Brandon Burgett, Blake Bouffard and Brandon Stephens were major contributors.
This Friday marks the end of the T-wolves’ road to state. The final battle begins with kickoff at 8 p.m., when Cedar Park fights Lancaster (14-1) for the Class 4A, Division II state championship title at Cowboy Stadium. Regardless of the final outcome, the T-wolves have made their mark on school history.
