Cedar Park (7-2, 5-0) topped Vista Ridge (7-2, 3-2) 17-10 on Nov. 2 at Gupton Stadium. Despite the loss, the Rangers will also be in playoffs.
Connections from quarterback junior Nathan Grimm to Samuel Brock and Ethan Fry put points on the board for touchdowns in the first half. A 27-yard field goal by Zachary Hancock added to the Timberwolves’ advantage.
Vista Ridge’s Chris Nichols secured three points with a 30-yard field goal.
By halftime, Timberwolf offense had an overall advantage, with 280 total yards and 17 first downs. The Rangers had 40 yards and two first downs.
With 3:36 left on the clock, Vista Ridge’s Stedman Mayberry made a 1-yard run for a touchdown, followed by an extra point by Nichols.
Dripping Springs will host Cedar Park for the last week of district play on Nov. 9.
