Ava Callaway

Ava is a senior and this is her first year in Newspaper. In addition to being on staff, she is also involved in Varsity choir, Seasons and PALS for the second year. She is super excited to be working with everyone here on staff. She is hoping to either major in vocal performance or interior design after high school. Some facts about her include: she’s a Taurus, loves cats and her favorite show is “The Office” and “Gilmore Girls.”

Senior Miranda Moser showcases her future at Middlebury College for her senior pictures with a smile. Moser has been swimming competitively for eight years and will continue to pursue swimming in her future. “I was really excited,” said Moser. “I had been doing the recruiting process for a long time and Middlebury was my top choice, so It felt like all my hard work paid off.”

Senior Kaia Oberg swings the bat as fast as she can. As the ball is soaring through the air,  she sprints to first base. “The adrenaline in the box is unshakable, it’s an outnumbered battle,” Oberg said. “It’s you versus the nine defenders on the field.”

A Leap of Faith

With a smile on her face, junior Madi Cooper practices her music for theater’s musical “Big Fish.” The show will be Jan. 26 -28 at 7 p.m. in the PAC. “I love all the people in the theater department,” Cooper said. “I have never met a more determined and hard working group of people than those in theater, so many people are go-getters and achievers and it really helps our productions in the long term.”

Keeping her eye on the ball, freshman Joy Udoye watches closely as the ball bounces off her arms and into the setter's hands. Udoye said her time on varsity this season allowed her to have fun with other people. “Ever since tryouts my time on varsity has been extremely fun,” Udoye said. “It’s amazing to get to spend this time with such great people while playing the sport that I love.”

The sequel to the most beloved Halloween movie. “Hocus Pocus,” directed by Kenny Ortega, was released on Sept. 30 on Disney +. The movie follows the three most iconic witches in movie history, The Sanderson Sisters, along with three other younger high school girls.
