Traveling into the glitz and glam of the roaring twenties, AP English 3 students threw a “Gatsby” party after reading The Great Gatsby. They got to dress up in clothes from the era, play games like cards and poker, as well as eat and drink what they put together.

The party was part of a project in which they were to choose a character from the book, bring a food that was representative of them, as well as some sort of art piece, and a twenties related facts.

“For the project, our group had the character Daisy Buchanan. Our job was to bring something bubbly (like Daisy) so we came up with a list of fizzy drinks we could make for everyone at the party,” junior MacKenzie Martinez said. “We gave them names like “The Great Gatsby” and “The Fizzy Flapper” and made a big sign that had the names of the drinks and their ingredients on it.”
