The newest member to the Cedar Park family is Economics teacher Doug Driscoll. Driscoll is replacing retired Economics teacher Craig Weems as a long term substitute. With preparation from Uteach and an undergrad in Government, Driscoll is prepared for his first semester as a teacher.
Driscoll received his undergrad in 2008 from the University of Texas at Austin and was quickly accepted into a teaching preparation school called Uteach. Uteach is an elite school for teachers graduating from UT.
Driscoll has been here for one week and is already adjusting to being a teacher.
“I love this school and its students,” Driscoll said. “I want to stay in this great environment.”
Though Driscoll teaches a complex subject, he enjoys the simple things in life, such as listening to his favorite music and playing ultimate frisbee.
“I love older music,” Driscoll said. “Neil Young and The Rolling Stones are some of my favorites.”
