Most anticipated entertainment of 2016

New year, new things to enthrall us. Whenever we’re not reporting, The Wolfpack staff enjoys catching up on the latest and greatest in the entertainment industry. Here are some of the things we are most excited to see released this year.
Some movies we’re looking forward to in 2016 are:
The 5th Wave
Aliens have invaded, and they are attacking us in waves. The waves are slowly killing off all the humans on earth, and now that the aliens are disguising themselves as people and walking amounts humanity, no one can be trusted.
Deadpool
The sarcastic anti-hero with accelerated healing abilities, Wade Wilson takes on the persona Deadpool and begins tracking down the man who ruined his life.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
While details for the plot of the movie have not yet been released, this movie is an adaptation of a book by J.K. Rowling that was originally a textbook students at the magic school of Hogwarts used from her bestselling Harry Potter series.
Some exciting new books being released in 2016 are:
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
Set five years after her popular “Mortal Instruments” series, in this first installment of the new Dark Artifices series shadowhunter Emma Carstairs will work with her best friend and parabatai to solve a series of murders that resemble those of her parents years ago.
The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
The mythological Greek god Apollo is banished from Olympus after angering Zeus, as punishment he is turned into a normal teenage boy on the streets of New York City.
Flamecaster by Cinda Williams Chima
Adrian sul’ Han is a healer with powerful magic, the queendom is thrown into chaos and he may have a chance at murdering the man who caused it, but can a boy gifted at saving lives take one? Jenna Bandelow has been marked from birth, she always thought it had meant she was cursed yet the King begins searching for someone with a mark like the one she has, she believes it may have a deeper meaning.
Some TV shows we’re excited to see return in 2016 are:
Sherlock: The Abominable Bride
This special episode of BBC’s “Sherlock” was released on Jan. 1 as a special to help tide fans over as they wait one more year for season 4. “The Abominable Bride” is set in Victorian England as the famous detective and the determined doctor take on a new and baffling case that has even detective inspector Lestrade shaking in his boots.
New Girl
After going through a difficult breakup, socially awkward Jess moves in with three guys. Nick, an underachiever who has taken a few detours from his original life plan. Schmidt who obsesses over his social life. And Winston, the former athlete who realized he would never become a proffesional and decided to go a different route. Through the seasons, they become a hilarious dysfunctional family all trying to get their lives together.
Game of Thrones
Based on George R.R. Martin’s bestselling books “A Song of Ice and Fire,” this medieval fantasy is an epic story of several powerful families competing for rule of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Filled with magical elements and epic battle scenes as the families strive to be seated on the Iron Throne.

![Musical theatre class runs through “Footloose” during their dress rehearsal. Senior student director Mia Morneault says how much she’s enjoyed working with the cast and crew. “I am very proud of all the cast and crew who worked as hard on it as I have. A lot of people care about [this show],” Morneault said. “I have a lot of friends on the cast and on the crew, but I’ve also grown and gained friendships through the show, even as director where I may be a little more stricter than normal. ![Broadcast, yearbook and newspaper combined for 66 Interscholastic League Press Conference awards this year. Yearbook won 43, newspaper won 14 and broadcast took home nine. “I think [the ILPC awards] are a great way to give the kids some acknowledgement for all of their hard work,” newspaper and yearbook adviser Paige Hert said. “They typically spend the year covering everyone else’s big moments, so it’s really cool for them to be celebrated so many times and in so many different ways.”](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/edited-ILPC.jpg)

Hill rushed for three touchdowns in the 43-36 loss against Frisco Wakeland last Friday, but the Timberwolves were eliminated from playoff contention. “[I’m] just happy I got to experience the game with my brothers,” Hill said. “I’m going to remember how close and how enjoyable everything was with these guys. They are my brothers for life. Just waking up and grinding together, and proving the naysayers wrong [was my favorite part].”
