The show choir, a class that mixes theatrical dance with singing, gathers together for a photo. This class, and others, are filled with new faces like freshmen Alexandra Moll and Charlotte Griffin who said they were ready and excited for their first year in a high school choir. “The choir community is so supportive, everyone is incredibly nice and enjoyable to be around," Moll said. More Than Just a Voice

The choir performed during the pandemic last year, having a socially distanced performance that also included virtual tickets. This year, their hard work will bring the familiar feelings of Disney as they’ve done annually. “We host this event to outreach to the community and provide families with an opportunity to have a little magic close at home,” Holt said. “There will be lots of songs from classic cartoon movies- How Far I'll Go, Almost There, Arabian Nights just to name a few.”

The varsity mixed choir had prepared extensively for their TMEA performance, dedicating every minute to preparation. Jabbar reflects on this work. “For four months, every Wednesday after school, we practiced for an hour and fifteen minutes on the four songs,” Jabbar says. “And these weren’t easy songs. Ms Holt made sure we chose really hard songs that the professional choirs do. I was really happy that all the hard work was recognized.”
