This year’s “starry night” Homecoming Dance, organized by Student Council, is expected to create a dreamy night under the stars Saturday.

To contrast CPHS’ usual homecoming dances, Student Council members says this year’s event will stand out against the rest.

“The goal of the dance this year is for it to be outside in the courtyard instead of in the cafeteria,” Senior Class VP and head of Homecoming Committee Lexxi Clinton said. “We want it to be starry night themed so we really want holiday lights strung everywhere and blue and gold tulle and ornaments in all the trees so it will look really alive and kind of like a starry night.”

The theme also provided service hour opportunities to students. Student Council was able to give the hours to students if they brought string lights to student council sponsor Adam Babich for dance decorations.

“Whenever you start to decorate stuff you kind of have to go with what you’ve got,” Babich said. “The plan is to have the trees in the courtyard lit up with white Christmas lights; the DJ is gonna be stationed out in the courtyard as well.”

Student Council members hope to see students decked out at the football game Friday and sparkling at the dance under the stars Saturday.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased during lunches.

Dress is business casual, and all school rules still apply during the dance.
