April 25, 2022
After a long weekend in Dallas for a volleyball tournament, I sat on the couch at my house and decided to watch a movie with my mom. I quickly explained that I very much wanted to take a nap, but I was interested in new movies. We checked every entertainment platform, but there were no movies that caught our interest until we saw “The Adam Project” on Netflix.
The movie started with energetic music and the image of outer space and text that says “Time Travel Exists, You Just Didn’t Know It Yet.” which immediately sparked my interest because I love sci-fi adventure movies such as Spiderman or any Marvel movies. The first scene is of one of the lead actors named Adam, played by Ryan Reynolds, flying in a jet in 2050. I thought that this was a great way to start off the movie because it immediately grabbed my attention and made me anxious to see what was going to happen next.
The plot starts with a lot of high speed action as older Adam steals a jet to try and return to the past from 2050. It later cuts to a scene of 12-year-old Adam getting bullied at school in 2022. Younger Adam, played by Walker Scobell, struggles with the loss of his dad who had passed the year before, and often gets bullied by a certain group of boys. He is suspended from school for “fighting,” although he is never the one fighting, by being very sarcastic and expressing all of his opinions. As Adam’s mom, played by Jennifer Garner, goes out for the night leaving younger Adam alone, he hears a loud noise coming from outside and decides to explore it. Next, younger Adam sees a strange man on the ground of his father’s garage. Younger Adam then realizes that the man in his garage is his older self.
The movie continues with younger Adam and older Adam facing obstacles from the future coming back to 2022. They have to work together to try and solve the problems of 2050 and get older Adam back to his time. Older Adam helped remind his younger self about how his actions affect other people, like how he treats his mother. Younger Adam learns a lot about his relationship with his mother and how to appreciate his mother more. Younger Adam gets to view how his life could turn out in the future with time travel, he sees that time travel has affected his future life and both Adams fight for the well-being of their lives.
I really enjoyed the acting in this movie from Reynolds and Scobell, and I thought they portrayed the character really well and were a good match to play co-leads. Reynolds is obviously known for his famous movies such as “Deadpool,” “Free Guy” and “6 Underground,” but his co-lead Scobell’s first role as an actor is playing younger Adam. I thought that this really shows how much potential this young actor has for being cast as a co-lead with the prominent Reynolds. Usually actors start their careers with smaller roles, but this young actor started off as a lead with a big time actor.
I also thought the movie was really funny considering it was made to be an sci-fi and adventure movie. The dialogue was really entertaining, and I really enjoyed the storyline of the movie and the actors that played big roles in the movie. I liked that throughout the movie viewers could see the development of younger Adam because of his older self.
Overall, I recommend this movie because of the very interesting and unexpecting plot I think this is a great movie to watch with friends or family members because it’s a classic “feel good” movie with lots of action that gets its audience excited to know what’s going to happen next. It definitely lightened up my mood and made me more excited about the day.

A lot of people care about [this show],” Morneault said. “I have a lot of friends on the cast and on the crew, but I’ve also grown and gained friendships through the show, even as director where I may be a little more stricter than normal. Kato’s painting is a political piece inspired by a photo of elementary schoolers in the street protesting against ICE. “I think it's also symbolic because they're surrounded by snow, which can represent ICE, and they are still marching,” Kato said. “[The kids] are not stopping until equality or justice is served, which I think is really important to represent and show.” Photo by John Pinion](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Screenshot-2026-03-26-114740.png)

The varsity baseball team played in the bi-district round of playoffs against the Boerne Greyhounds April 30-May 2, where they won Game 1 6-4, lost Game 2 2-1 and won the last game 5-2, allowing them to advance to area. “Honestly, [my favorite] big moment that wasn't even part of my moment was Dom's grand slam,” Cuevas said. “That was a big game changer in Game 1 of round one that ultimately helped us win that game and even move on. It set the tone for the games after and has really impacted and sparked this whole playoff run.” Photo by Allie Tseng](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/allie-boerne00159-1200x800.jpg)

They are my brothers for life. Just waking up and grinding together, and proving the naysayers wrong [was my favorite part].”
