Penny is a senior and a third year reporter. In addition to being a staff member of The Wolfpack, she is also a part of the T-Wolf volleyball team and has been since her freshman year. In her free time, she likes to read and hangout with her friends. She enjoys learning more about writing and meeting new people. She hopes to go to the University of Houston to study political science. She loves playing with her cat, sleeping, and eating snacks.

The movie “Anyone But You” released on Dec. 22  in theaters, and tells the love story of a young couple and their travels to Australia. The movie stars popular actors Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell in the newly released rom-com. “Anyone But You” is a hilarious and heartwarming movie that would be perfect for anyone during the upcoming Valentines Day season.

Junior Swimmer Ella Mongenel commits to the University of Texas to continue her academic and athletic career on the Women’s Swim and Dive team. She has been in communication with the Longhorn swimming staff since June, and committed in November. “Even though swimming is so individualized when you compete,having teammates there to support you makes a big difference,” Mongenel said. “I am thankful for all the people that I have met throughout my swimming career and how they helped me push through.”

The movie “Priscilla” released on Oct. 27 in theaters, Priscilla Presleys perspective of her life with Elvis is finally told. In the movie, Priscilla is played by Cailee Spaeny while Elvis is played by popular actor Jacob Elordi, and the often untold story of Elvis and Priscilla’s marriage are exposed. The movie gives insight into Elviss true nature and how he acted outside of his stardom.

The boys swim and dive team finished in second place at the meet.    I also try to be positive and encourage everyone on the team, Huang said. I love the team. I love the people on the team. Its more team based, so if you dont necessary do well at a swim meet youre still having fun cause youre hanging out with your friends.

The varsity volleyball tell battled against Leander and ended the match with a victory in the fourth set. My favorite thing about being a manager is being able to help out with practices and going to watch all the games,Hurn said. Being a manager helps me as a player because I can watch high level volleyball and watch how people better than me play, and apply the playing style or techniques and form to how I play in my practices and games.

According to Coach K, she hopes to not only continue the success of the program but also make them better players and people. “I feel like one of my biggest roles is to be a mentor and a person they can look up to,” Coach K said. “Someone who will be there for them long after they’re gone from the program.”

The “Creed” movies are a continuation of the story and characters from the “Rocky” series in 1976. I would recommend this movie to anyone who watched all of the “Rocky” movies or just loves a good action movie.

They also competed in Orlando, Florida,  for the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship on Feb. 16, which concluded their competition season. “My favorite thing about the team is our ability to make anything fun,” senior captain Katelyn Orzoco said. “We are constantly laughing and having fun with each other. The bond we have is like no other. But when it comes time to focus and work, we get things done.”

It became the number one tv show on Netflix for a few weeks and remains the current number on TV shows in the United States. The wrestling team prepares for their district matches, which will take place on Jan. 27 for junior varsity wrestlers and Feb. 3-4 for varsity wrestlers. The team continues to work on perfecting their techniques and growing their bond as a program. “My favorite thing about the team is definitely the brotherhood that comes with it,” sophomore Miles Jones said. “We are a big family. Knowing you always have your team backing you up is one of the greatest feelings ever.”

On Sept. 8, senior Kate Pape was given was recognized by the mayor of Cedar Park, Jim Penniman-Morin, for being the first female in the Cedar Park and Northshore district to earn the Eagle Scout rank. The mayor gave a speech at the Cedar Park City Hall and signed the award acknowledging the work she put in to achieve this goal in only three years, which is rarely done. “Scouts has made me more confident and comfortable when I’m in groups,” Pape said. “I am also more comfortable in taking the lead in the things that I do. The team played a tournament against Cooper High School on March 25 with one win and one loss. “I’ve always been big into the weightroom and that has always come naturally,” Vaughn said. “But I have spent much more time on pitching and my hard work is definitely helping me become a better pitcher. Every player goes into games in practice with an intent of getting better at the game and becoming a better athlete.”

I feel the “i love you so much” mural is famous for being one of the most photographed places in Austin. People visit Jo’s coffee, where the mural is located on South Congress, to take pictures with it every day. The Mat has recently relocated on Cypress Creek road near the High School, and they teach students how to face potential dangers and real life challenges. “The Mat Martial Arts & Fitness is more than just a place where I go to work, to train, or to teach,” Sertuche said. “The Mat is a place I can go and feel like everyone is treated like a family every time I walk in.”

Discussing strategies with senior varsity football player Dylan Hufford, varsity football coach Brendan McCarthy coaches the team against Georgetown game on Sept. 24. McCarthy, who used to coach at Cedar Park Middle School, started coaching football at the high school level as of this year, and he said there is a difference between the two school football teams. “I am becoming a better coach because I can concentrate on one position: safeties,” McCarthy said. “Here, football is a lot more fast paced and having to win is a lot more important. There is a lot more pressure because of the level of play.”
