Humans of CP: Olivia Cantrell

Sydney Miner, Reporter

Practicing and reciting oral interpretation of literature, junior Olivia Cantrell competed at the Westlake/Chapparal TFA Swing Meet against other schools in the district on Oct. 17. She placed third in Poetry Interpretation and fifth in Prose Interpretation. Cantrell delivered two poems called “Blueprint” and “Tomatoes” by Shane Koyczan.  Since she is involved in clubs and electives that have to do with speaking and competing, like speech debate and theater tech, she feels that it has helped her in poetry reciting.

“It had definitely helped me become more comfortable with speaking and helping combat my anxiety,” Cantrell said. “I have learned to express myself and competing has allowed me to make tons of friends.”
