Madison is a senior, it’s her second year on staff but her first year as an editor. She loves meeting new people and is constantly searching for new music in her free time. She enjoys writing about new topics and learning from the people she interviews. Some of her favorite things include: every Dutch Bros drink imaginable, tea, Frank Ocean and staying up late. She hopes to attend the University of North Texas to major in Journalism.

Overall, the girls team took second place and the boys team came in eleventh. “My favorite stroke is butterfly because I do the best in that stroke,” Pope said. “I feel like [butterfly] can test how [your ability] to convince yourself to keep going. During the summer, Peterson traveled to Colombia to help build an elementary school that only had two classrooms but five or six grades with one teacher. “We add[ed] two more classrooms,” Peterson said. “It’s kind of hard when you have two or three grades in one classroom and you only have one teacher. It’s very hard to actually get some beneficial learning. Balakrishnan applied to 18 colleges in total, but she decided on Columbia in the end. “Right before I clicked the button to open Columbia’s letter, I literally looked at the camera and go ‘This is just gonna really suck because I wanted it so bad,’ and I clicked it and all of a sudden you hear trumpets,” Balakrishnan said. “There’s a video that plays when you open it and I actually didn’t watch the video, I just watched the screen go black, because every day of December before ED [Early Decision] I would go on YouTube and watch the acceptance video to manifest it, so immediately when the screen went black, I started screaming and jumping up and down. And my parents in the video are like ‘What are you doing, where’s the letter,’ and I was just screaming ‘I got in, I got in.” I just started crying, and it just felt like everything in the world came together.”](https://cphswolfpack.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/ariana-2.jpg)
![Dancing as a cowboy in the number “Showdown,” senior Brady Allen performs in theater’s production of “Big Fish.” The show was worked on by the theatre department throughout the fall semester and featured many student actors and actresses. “It was really fun [preparing for this role] because our choreographer, Audrey Johnson, was really willing to work things out with those of us who weren’t as skilled in dancing,” Allen said. “I think [the show] went really [well]. This is an event that is released towards the beginning of December every year. “I thought it was fine [Spotify Wrapped], I felt like they kind of tried too hard, with the intros and how it said things like ‘You understood the assignment’,” Griffin said. “It was kind of cringe. But overall, the information in it was good. I like that they added new stuff and kept it fresh.
