The CPHS campus covered in snow. On Feb. 14, Leander School District called classes off for a period that lasted over a week as students and teachers suffered power outages. The water supply to my house was cut off for two days, sophomore Caleb Taylor said. Power came back on the midnight of Feb. 16.

Senior Caden Teliha is proudly shows off his achievement in being named All-State with the TMEA Texas Choir for four years in a row. Through his involvement in the choir, Taliha said he has discovered a lot about music and singing like sight-reading and music theory. I’ve learned so much from choir, Teliha said. Standing together, the Varsity Mixed Choir poses in a local chapel on Jan. 18 for their ACDA performance. After submitting their blind recordings, the choir was chosen to perform ACDA, which will hold a virtual convention on March 18-20. “I felt super excited and honored,” senior Sydney Solberg said. “Mrs. Holt had previously mentioned that it was one of her biggest dreams to perform at ACDA, so I knew it was a big deal and it was going to be a once in a lifetime experience.”

Although the Nov. 13 game ended in a loss 54 - 56, the girls varsity team proceeded to win every game in the season afterwards. Maul owes the teams victories to their teamwork and coaching. I’m proud of my team for always sticking and working together. Most of the credit goes to their efforts and to Coach Ott for always keeping us in top shape, Maul said.

President Suparna Swaroop , one of the advancing members, has expressed happiness and pride at these members for their work and advancing to state. “I am so proud of all the DECA members’ work and successes this year,” Swaroop said. “Especially with COVID-19 and the new virtual competition, our DECA members have really done an excellent job of working hard and staying motivated. I know that we are all going to do really well at state because our chapter is filled with passionate business students that are determined to compete.”
