Running with a ball clutched in his arm, Kason Fuller, a member of the nonprofit organization Cheyanna’s Champions 4 Children (CC4C), participates in the varsity football teams after school practice. Fuller, who was diagnosed with PANDAS when he was five, is an outdoor enthusiast with a newfound interest for football. After running the 3200m event with a time of 10:26.49 at the track State Competition on May 7, freshman Isabel Conde De Frankenberg shows off her first medal of the day. Conde De Frankenberg also earned silver for her time of 2:09.21 in the 800m event. “It felt amazing to earn a gold medal at state,” Conde de Frankenberg said. “It was very exciting to know that my training over the season paid off. This state competition was very memorable to me because it was my first [state] competition, so it was just really exciting being able to go out there as a freshman and accomplishing what I did.”

To win this state title is truly a blessing, sophomore captain and point guard, Gisella Maul, said. Point guard Gisella Maul dribbles and runs towards the net while playing against members of Cibolo Steel. Although the Nov. 13 game ended in a loss 54 - 56, the girls varsity team proceeded to win every game in the season afterwards. Maul owes the teams victories to their teamwork and coaching. I’m proud of my team for always sticking and working together. Most of the credit goes to their efforts and to Coach Ott for always keeping us in top shape, Maul said.

Varsity cheerleaders pose in Cowboy Stadium as they cheer for the football team at the state football championships on Jan. 15, just one day after the they competed in the Spirit Championships in Fort Worth, placing fifth. Senior Captain Emma Vorndran expressed pride at the teams work and said she is grateful for her time with them. 
I would not want to be on any other team,” Vorndran said. “I feel as if this is the best team I have ever been a part of in regards to both talent and friendships. The relationships that have been made on this team are meaningful to each and every individual, and I am so proud of how far this team has come. The best part about being a senior captain is watching the younger classmen grow in skill and their love for cheer.”
